Training & Public Speaking
Dr. Gray has extensive experience in public speaking and conducting training sessions across many areas including behavior interventions, Autism evaluations, and Special Education best practices. She has also worked with parents to help them apply interventions in the home setting that were found to be effective at school. These experiences allow Gray Area to engage in training and public speaking across a wide variety of areas. Below you will find a list of possible topics for training and/or public speaking, the list is not exhaustive. Please contact Gray Area for more information.
Training and/or public speaking topics offered by Gray Area:
- Possible content: Use of Autism assessments, evaluating girls for characteristics of Autism, completing differential assessments (e.g., Autism and Intellectual Disability), case studies to help apply skills, etc.
- Possible content: a discussion about common IEP pitfalls, best practices for IEP development, how to form collaborative relationships with families and advocates, a review of district-specific IEPs and presentation of common errors and best practices for the district, goal writing, PLAAFP development, etc.
- Possible content: behavior intervention plan (BIP) development, completion of functional behavior assessments (FBAs), applying strategies in the general education classroom, how to carry over strategies from school to home, etc.
- Classroom observations can be completed to provide feedback on behavior interventions to district personnel
- Presentations detailing growing up with ADHD from Special Education services to medication
- Discussion of resources available in public schools and how to navigate them
- Review of the differences between Special Education eligibility and outside diagnoses
- Possible content: eligibility guidelines, legal regulations, IEP development, parent involvement, legal precedent, etc.
