Melissa Taylor, M.S., CCC-SLP is a Speech-Language Pathologist with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Child Development from Oklahoma State University (OSU) and a Masters of Science in Communication Disorders from the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD). She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) by the State of Texas.
While in graduate school, Melissa gained experience in the field working with Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) of LifePath Systems supporting the speech and language needs of families and children ages birth to 3 as well as with Dallas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children assisting in swallow studies for children with developmental disorders. She completed both her graduate internship and Clinical Fellowship Year in educational settings.
In addition to over 15 years as a Speech-Language Pathologist in public education, Melissa has worked across a variety of other settings including pediatric home health, adult residential care, and within the private practice sector. She has experience working with children, teens, and adults with simple to complex communication disorders. It is her passion to see the whole individual including their strengths and areas of need as related to speech production and fluency, language, cognition, voice, resonance, and aspects of swallowing, such as related feeding behaviors. Melissa values and strives to increase successful collaboration with individuals, families, and caregivers- as well as with other educational and medical professionals.
